Same here! My dad made me read it for the first time when I was 11, and I was HOOKED. I was one of the people in the theater shaking their head going, What is Arwen doing there, that’s supposed to be GLORFINDEL who meets them at Rivendell….

#you guys #do you know that Merry is eight years older than Pippin #so pippin’s whole life #Merry has been his big cousin #looking out for him #teaching him about frogs and fishing and all the best places in Hobbiton to hide from adults #and then when they got a little older #Merry probably gave Pippin his first mug of ale and his first pipe of tobacco #MERRY HAS ALWAYS LOOKED AFTER PIPPIN #because Pippin was young and reckless and needed looking after #in hobbit-age Pippin was barely more than just a kid when they left on this quest #and merry looked out for him there too #BUT NOW PIPPIN HAS GROWN INTO A HERO #and it’s his turn to protect Merry #oh my god you guys I did not expect these HOBBIT FEELS
Merry and Pippin always gave me feels in ways Frodo and Sam (whose sections I always skipped when reading, or watching) never did.
